Brightening Up RMHC Tooting

Do you remember those coin donating boxes in McDonald’s when you were growing up? All of those donations went to Ronald McDonald’s House Charities (RMHC). They have been helping families for over 25 years; and are the UK’s leading provider of free family accommodation at NHS hospitals offering 14 houses across the UK alone.

RMHC does amazing work providing a much-needed home away from home for the families of seriously ill children in hospital, at a time when they need it most. Without the houses, many families could face weeks or even months of living in a hospital ward.

The Marketing Store is incredibly proud to have been volunteering our creative services to help the Ronald McDonald House in Tooting for several years now. Three years ago, we visited the Tooting House to install a large wall mural and some photo frame wall decorations in the reception area, to bring life and creativity to the space and help brighten up the house for those living there in a negative situation. We understood how important it is that the House feels like a home, and we were eager to volunteer to help achieve this. We put out a brief to the whole design department and they answered the call with an array of inspiring pieces of creative. Their work has made a huge difference to the Tooting House and the families who stay there.

Recently we have been back to RMHC Tooting to refresh the wall creative and discuss new pieces of creative work including an exciting new brief which will also benefit another of the Ronald McDonald Houses in Camberwell. Visiting RMHC Tooting always evokes mixed emotions; often when we visit we hear sad news about the families who have stayed there, which is hard to hear. However, there are also many positive stories which act as a reminder of the huge importance of the work RMHC does. We are very privileged to have been able to work with RMHC Tooting and support them in any way we can, and we are excited to now work with RMHC Camberwell too. We hope the families who stay in the Houses gain as much enjoyment from our creative work as our teams will do creating it for them.
